Outdoor mishaps, blunders and eyesores. What happens outdoors…stays on WhooKnoo for a really, really long time.

Indoor

Nothing says tacky like 70’s wallpaper and tourist trap tchotchke’s, and we’re on the prowl for the worst of it.

Baby & Kids

We shudder to think what can befall the youngest among us, but sometimes it’s good for a harmless chuckle at their expense.

Pets & Animals

Loyal and loving, most pets are adults at 2 years of age, but they still can’t open a can of food without our help.

We’re all for preserving the planet, and you should be too unless you’ve got someplace else to live… Yah, we didn’t think so.

The Benefits of Using a Rain Barrel

You might think setting up a rain barrel in your backyard is outdated and useless in your modern day life.  After all, what is the point of saving rain when you have numerous faucets in your home that are capable of spewing out more water than you could ever need? Not only is a rain barrel a great way to utilize an environmentally friendly water supply, it actually has some uses that you may find very practical.  Here are three ways you may find a rain barrel to be pretty useful.

  1. Saving on water bills – According to data published by the Environmental Protection Agency, about 40% of the water that we use during the summer months is spent on watering our lawns and gardens.  Instead of wasting tons and tons of water from your hose, you can re-use rain water for all of your watering needs.  Not only is this practice environmentally friendly it will also help out your summer budget.  Additionally…
  2. Rain water is actually BETTER for your plants – Rain water is actually perfect for watering your plants because it doesn’t contain the chlorine that is present in tap water.  Rain water also contains microorganisms that are actually very beneficially for plant life.  Rain water will make your plants greener, healthier and more immune to various types of plant disease.

3 Emergency Water Supply – If there ever is some type of disaster (IE – flood, drought, hurricane), your rain barrel can provide you drinking water that is essential for life.  This benefit may sound overly-paranoid, but who knows what can happen.  It’s best to always be prepared.
